JIM LAMBIE

BIO

(b. 1964, Glasgow, Scotland) Jim Lambie studied at Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, Scotland. He has had solo exhibitions at museums throughout the world, including two in 2007: RSVP: Jim Lambie, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Massachusetts, and Directions, Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C. In 2008 he had a solo exhibition at Hara Museum, Tokyo. Lambie has also participated in numerous group shows, including Unmonumental: The Object in the 21st Century, New Museum, New York, 2007, and Color Chart: Reinventing Color, 1950 to Today, MOMA, New York, 2008. He represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale, Venice, 2003, and participated in Carnegie International, Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 2004. The first comprehensive monograph on the artist, Voidoid, was published in 2004. He lives and work in Glasgow, Scotland.
